APEC Auto Dialogue

The 11^th meeting of the Automotive Dialogue (AD) was held in Seoul, Korea from 30 March to 2 April 2009.  The meeting was attended by government and industry representatives from Australia, Canada, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, the United States of America and Vietnam.  Representatives of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) participated in the meeting as a guest.

• Global crisis effect on APEC Auto Industry;

• APEC Committee on Trade and Investment (CTI) Priorities;

• Market Access Working Group;

• Agreement to Commit to “No New Auto Tariff or Non-Tariff Measures”;

• Harmonisation of Regulations & Road Safety Working Group;

• Small & Medium Enterprise (SME) Development Working Group;

• Customs and Trade Facilitation Working Group;

• Peer Review of Korea;

• Intellectual Property Rights Working Group;

• Motorcycle Safety Initiative;

• Biofuel Project Proposal; and

• Report to CTI/Presentation to Trade Ministers;
